my brother owns a 95 turbo mustang gt. after having a graphite head gasket replaced two days ago, we blew it again the day we got it back with the same gasket. its currently running around 14lbs. of boost on a stock block and intake manifold.
we took the heads off and found every cyclinder fill with water. cylinders two and seven were filled with rust (upon inspecting the gaskets, thats where the gaskets were blown). there are several circular blemishes on the two cylinders mostly towards the top of the cyclinder. i don't have a digital camera to post pictures of the cylinders. to the touch, the surface is obviously uneven.
what im trying to find out is:
has anyone had a similar experience with a blown head gasket and damage to the cylinder walls similar to my description?
what causes these circular marks?
and can these be smoothed out with the shortblock still in the car with a ridge reemer?
right now, we are dead broke and are looking for economical solutions first. any advice would be helpful.
here are the modifications the engine has:
stock block and intake
custom made turbo kit
t76 turbo
spearco air/air intercooler
vortech bypass
tial wastegate
accel dfi gen VI
42lbs injectors
trex fuel pump
manual boost controller
93 intake manifold customized to work on 95 chassis
1.7 rockers
exhaust dumped in front of the front passenger tire
