Blown head gaskets :) need a quick answer

Rick, mind if I ask why you use the RTV versus Permatex Blue? I believe that's what TFS recommended when I installed my heads, so that's what I used with the ARP studs. It is hardening, so it should work in the same manner as the RTV, right? Or do you just like the RTV because it's thicker, and will consistantly seal?

well the car is back together and 1 heat cycle now, should i heat it up 1 more time before i retorqu the lower intake?

It couldn't hurt. I never retorqued my lower after I installed it, and it's had probably a couple hundred heat cycles now. Just torqued it down in sequence until it stayed at the correct torque and left it at that.

damn heater rail is leaking from the part right above where it screws into the lower. There is nothing i can do there i think. I loaded it up with some sealer and letting it sit over night... its always something...

Permatex Blue, Red, Copper, Grey and Black will all work. I personally use the Black.
