BLOWOUT!

I'm guessing this is tech because it's a safety concern.

My dad was driving my Cougar to/from work and the tire blew out on him on his way home. He was driving on the highway when it happened. Fortunately he didn't lose control. Anyway, these are Sumitomo HTR+ tires in size 225/50/16 that I bought off the tire rack. They are worn but not yet at the wear indicator. He had 40 PSI in them (max I think is 55 or 65).

34 is what the car panel recommends but the car handled better with 42 in the front and 40 in the rears. I tried it in the stang but it didn't handle well so I dropped it down to 38 in the rear and 40 in the front.
