Bluetooth Problems

Hey everyone,

I just got my 05 Vert GT Black exterior Red interior IUP on Tuesday and I have been driving it all over Houston. It is awesome!!

I have a question, though. The dealer add-ons guy told me there were problems with the Ford Mobile-Ease kit and that bluetooth wouldn't work 100% as advertised. I asked him specifically what was wrong with it, and he replied that Delphi (apparently the guys who make the Shaker 500) didn't support the Bluetooth device (the phone) taking over the speakers and muting them whenever a call comes in. I told him, if that was the case, then I didn't want the bluetooth kit and I would wait until it was supported.

Does anyone else know if this is true? I can't find anything on the web about this issue. The dealer add-on guy seemed to not really know what was wrong. Did anyone here get the bluetooth kit and have they tried it out with their 05 mustang?

My Motorola V3 Razr needs the bluetooth!! Any help is apppreciated!

P.S. I am getting the Black Bullits with Pony Center and I have ordered the works from Zaino, all because of the recommendations from the people on this site.

I've got the mobile-ease kit installed in mine and have never had any problems with the kit taking over the speakers. Occasionally it takes a second or two for the Shaker to acknowledge when I press the button on my V710 to initiate a voice call. Otherwise it works fine. The one thing I really regret that isn't available through Mobile-Ease is the ability to download my phone book. There's no way I'm going to manually enter each and every entry in my phone book. I just use the cell phones phonebook.

Congrats on the car. I have been driving around Houston and haven't seen you yet. :rlaugh: I'll keep an eye out. Its amzing, there are just not that many GT's around here yet. Haha, I'm ording the complete Zaino kit too.

Thanks for the info, martimus. I may try ordering it then and going ahead and installing it.

blk05retro - you're from katy, huh? I am out there every week or two for a Texas Hold 'Em poker game with some buddies. They live off of Kingsland. As for me, I am over by Westheimer and Woodway/Voss area mostly. Hope to see you around!

Wow, we got the same car and the same phone. :D from what I understand, it will mute your speaker on the system, the problem i have is that I'm not going to pay all that money for that particular bluetooth kit. You can buy a motorola (which i recommend) or sony ericson bluetooth kit and have them install it in to work just the same.

anyone install mobile ease kit them selfs

I have the mobile ease kit havent installed yet,

did not want dealer messing with car, and heard that it was a basic/easy install
I have the kit and I understand the instructions (very quaility looking kit)
but I am a little unsure on how to remove some of the panels required to wire up, any help?

The motorola and S/E kits will show call info and phone status up on the shaker display?

I don't know much about the v610, but with the v710, you need to have the latest firmware flashed into the phone.

The latest v710 firmware supports "OPP", which allows a specific file like the phone book to be transfered. Not as nice as the general purpose "OBEX", which lets any file get transfered, but good enough.
