I am going to get my car repainted because it has crap paint on it now. It has several door dings on the side and some hail dents on the roof and tops of the fenders. I'm on a budget so can anyone give me some tips on getting these dents out before I paint it?

I prefer using a Spitznagel stud gun to remove dings and dents. You may be able to rent or borrow one, but buying one, I'm assuming, will be out of the question. So, if they are very minor dings, you could just fill them if you are on a budget.

I think I will try using some different meathods. I am thinking of doing paintless dent removal. I used to know a guy that did such damn good work but he moved to another state.

Paintless dent removal will be more expensive than just buying the Spitznagel, and doing it yourself. I had a friend that used dent wizard or something and it was around $100, for each ding.

We have a guy out here thats $70 a pannel too. He comes out to my buddies body shop once a month so I am gonna try and grab him next time. That way I dont have to pay the $50 field charge. :D

I really want to do it with minimal body filler because after time body filler shows us, and anyone who knows anything about a car's finish can spot it easy with anymore than a 45* angle.

A proper refinishing job, weather body filler is used or not will not show down the road. If the prep work is done right, the dents actually pulled properly and filled, you will never know. But if you don't need new paint than pdr is pry the way to go.
