I have an LX Convertible..id like to convert it to a GT front bumper, side skirt, cobra rear bumper. what else do i need? Also, cervini makes the cobra side skirts, and they r attached with a couple of screws and 3M tape...

How r the original GT side skirts attached?

What GT moldings am i going to need to make this work?I know i need the ones for the doors, but what about the rear fender(the ones that go inbeetwen the rear bumper and the wheel well)?

What r the Cobra front fender extentions? do i need them?

Does the Gt front bumper come with the extentions if i get it from a scrap yard??

thanx

Do a search on this I beleive it came up recently. Also be prepared to hear a bit from people. This one always generates some responses as to why you would want to do this. I have a GT Vert myself and love the look but if I had a LX I would leave it that way. Try a search.

well..the front bumper isnt agressive on a LX...plus i like fog lights... I LOVE tailpies..thats why id go with the cobra rear bumper, cuz u can still see them not like a GT.. A cobra R hood (without the vents) looks great on a Gt not on a LX.. and the car looks overal lower than an LX. Well thats only my opinion..

I cant lower it becaus of the city i live in it soo god damn bumpy.

Yea the Cobra rear will look good. I want tailpies as well and will get the Cobra rear sometime. I beleive all the parts come with what is needed to apply from Cervini's. If not they can steer you in the right direction for sure.

aight thats what i did to mine hehe.

you will need the following.
front and rear bumpers.
side skirts these are put with rivets and some metal strips (i know theres a site you can order them from or make your own i think) or you can use double sided tape.
also you will need rear bumper moldings aswell as front bumper moldings now for the front only make sure you get the right ones if you have a 87-89 mustang you are going to need front gt moldings from a 87-89 GT if you have a 90-93 then you will need the front gt molding from a 90-93 Gt.
if you want to put fog lights you will need the fog light bar and some fog lights and also you will need to change the light switch since on a LX the switch under the lights its just like a dummy.

thats all that you will need
thats all that you need for the conversion

gt spoiler
front rear bumper
side skirts fender extensions front and rear. on front ones you have to get some from a gt that is about hte same as your car.
example if your stang is 87-89 you need fender extensions from a 87-89 gt if your stang is a 90-93 you will need the front fender extensions from a 90-93 GT.

if you want fog lights you will need the fog light bar and some fog lights and you will need a different light swicth to be able to turn on the fog lights since hte one on the LX's dont work.

you dont need them I believe they are similar to the gt ones.

Nope it doesnt come with the fender extensions more than likely you will have to buy them separatly.

BTW, the wiring is there for the fog lights, it's even plugged in to the dummy switch on the LX, you just have to break out a small tab on the switch, and it'll work. Take a good look at it, and you'll see it.

Those zinc brackets were still available at Ford when I ordered a whole new set back in 2005. Mine were rotted....by the way, they are riveted on and easy to install. It is critical to line up the vertical bracket that is on the fenders. It is where the rocker molding hooks to the fender.
