I need to do some body work on my stang this weekend. I have a scrape that seems to have accumulated some surface rust. What tool do you guys recommend I use. What kind of sanding wheel? a grinder or just an air wheel. I've only got a 6 gallon compressor so electric may be the way to go.

What shades of red do the mustangs come with in 94? I've got the darker shade.

Thanks,
Tom

sounds like you have laser red--which, if i remember correctly, is a 3-stage paint. it's similar to the 99-04 redfire, but not quite the same.

maybe you could just sand the rust off, seal it up w/ some sealant, then use some touch-up paint from a parts store?

Whatever you do, don't mask off a rectangle around the scrape before painting!

Mask off surrounding panels, side mirrors, tires, glass. . . but if you mask a window around the area that you're fixing, you will have a darker patch in you paint there. You need to feather out the paint to get it to blend right.
