today was atcos last day of the year and i wanted to get a few runs in to see how the new engine combo ran.. i had just finished up installing a new tranny and clutch and they just broken in enough today.. so i hadnt driven the car hard at all with the new clutch and tranny before the track runs and wasnt really used to how the clutch grabbed under pressure.. so i pull up into the staging lanes do my burnout and go to launch.. i launched at about 1500-2000pms (this is on street tires) and totaly bogged down the engine, to the point where it almost stalled.. i ended up with like a 2.98 60ft.. so on my second and last run of the day (track was packed) i knew i was going to launch harder, so i dropped the tire pressure alittle and did a big smokey 2nd gear burnout.. get to the lights, rev it up to around 3000, drop the clutch, and it bogges really bad again.. that time my 60ft was a 2.62.. i was really suprised because i thought it would just burn the back tires.. i never thought i would have to launch higher than 3000 to avoid bogging on street tires (the tires are futura 265/50s) what the hell am i doing wrong? is the clutch to much for the engine? the power is there, it trapped at 108, and ive driven the car to 2.03 60ft when it was pretty stock.. sorry for such a long post but i was really pissed about today
.. which was just about the same as my run when the car was almost stock (except the trap speed was like 98)
