BOGGING OUT

my 87 mustang 5.0 boggs out when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear
but idle's and runs fine just when i go to get on the gas from 1st to 2nd.
it does take a minute to stay started but once started it runs fine i just figured the cold mornings on fort drum ny.
any one have any helpful tips
