Hey Gang,
I have a stock 96 GT and want to put an exhaust system on it. I really only care about the sound, not so much the performance. I had a 94 GT a few years back with an off road h-pipe and some flows. I want this car to sound like the last one, but I just saw that flowmaster has a few different types of mufflers now. Which is the best flowmaster to get? Also I don't want to do any welding, so is there a bolt on exhaust kit from the headers back? If not what do I need to buy to make it scream? Lastly, does the 96 GT have 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch exhaust? Thanks.

I suppose you know this from firsthand experience? Oh wait.. a friend of a friend told you. I have had my flormaster catback installed since 2001, and my car is daily driven, even in the snow and salt. There is VERY LITTLE rust, mainly only minor surface rust on the welds. The polished tips still look alright too, granted, they are getting some carbon build-up, but you'll have that with my exhaust setup. Plus, the car sound absolutely bad ass. I have recieved comments from several people, plus first hand when a tech pulled my car onto a lift at a tire store. And to everyone who says straight-thru mufflers add more power, unless you're running a turbo set-up, you will see very little (if any) performance difference.
