bolt up 99 block with my 98 parts

well i have decided to replace my block instead of rebuilding it with a 99 block. my question is will all of my 98 stuff bolt right up to it? i dont want to go buy it and find out something wont fit. thanks for the help guys.

it all should swap over but you'll need your 1998 front chain cover and the oil fill is on the right side on the windsors, I believe?

i just want to know if my 04 heads and 98 headers and all that crap will bolt up to the block itself. heres another question is the 4.6 block in the 96 tbird the same as the 96-98 mustangs? just the block and rotating assembly?

yes, in 1996 just about all the 2V short block were the same, the only one I can thing of that was different was the 1996 Crown Vic wth the "odd" 4.6 Windsor.

now your heads and headers will swap but Im sure you know the intake is different, other than that, you should be good

i guess i did forget to mention that i did the full PI swap on my 98. so i just want something to swap my block with thats the same. i want to keep my higher compression with my nitrous.

Yes....a '96 T-Bird uses a Romeo Block, which is what your '04 PI heads are. Your '98 Headers will fit both Windsor and Romeo blocks, since the exhaust bolt pattern remains the same on both. You’ll retain the same 10.4:1 CR you would had you stuck with your ’98 Mustang block. The only major difference between the Windsor and Romeo short blocks are the use of Dowel Pins vs. Jack screws that thread into the sides of the main caps. This isn’t even going to be an issue for you assuming you’re transferring the complete short block over form the T-Bird and only changing the top end and accessory components.
