Research what the gt40's like and want in terms of lift/dur and you will find they tend to like split pattern cams that favor the exh. Like lift in the .500 range with .010-.015 favor to the exh and 4 or so more in favor of exh for dur. This cam has made close to and over 300rwhp +/-10rwhp on non-ported gt40's (more with the P's but done on non-P's). The TFS1 cam is a mild lazy ramp rate roller compared to others and is a step up from the stocker for gt40 heads no doubt about it...no one is saying the gt40's are the best but as far as adding a cam the TFS1 is a good fit for a gt40 combo.

Have you ran the TFS1 cam, ran or researched a gt40 headed combo? I sure did and had no issues untuned outside of a crap C&L some have had a slight idle issue (I did but again as soon as I removed the C&L it went away) but was far far from running like crap. I even ran it on a base j4j1 calibration with the stock maf (first thing I did was dump the C&L and pick up a tweecer) ran with no hickups. The j4j1 eec does respond better to mods than the gt eec do to some deep programming switches that were turned off by Roush to reduce tuning issues from the factory with the gt40 stuff. If the owner wants to keep the gt40's...the TFS is a very good way to improve performance.

FWIW I dropped 33% comp on #7 with the 13.5 combo after that run...went to a dyno session that was $10 just to see (already had paid). I put down 243rwhp with 7 cyl. That is about what a stock cobra puts down...but with 7 not 8 cyl. blowing black rich arse smoke out the tails and a 11.2 A/F

Now with the stock springs it will have valve float and even then if it did not the springs are probably due for a replacement/fresh set even with the stock cam. If no springs are done...your not going to gain much as any power you add is being eaten by valve float.
