Boost A Pump for my setup?

I have 42# injectors, CPR fuel rails, and a Walbro 255 lph pump. I'm considering getting a BAP to make sure I don't starve the engine when I get it tuned out. I looked into getting Cobra tank + pumps but that would be close to $900, and I really don't have the extra money to do anything like that. Anyone have luck with the BAP?

Well that BaP may help some but I would look into those Granallity"sp" aftermarket CoP's that are making their way into the market. real nice piece and people are seeing some decent gains.

walbro is not made for our kind of fuel setup. i dont think the 99s are a return style. if not, you should really look at a turbine style pump instead of the gyrator pump you have now. I am running a ford GT pump, and the cobra guys are running two of them, but youd need to swap tanks if you want to do that.

imblown-ru - unfortunately i don't have the cash to drop on a whole new fuel pump system and tanks - the tank is almost the same price as the pumps and thats w/ discount fron Randy @ MD.

mogs - thanks for the link to the coils. by chance, know how much an aviator pump is and how it's output stacks against the walbro?

thats why I was considering going with the BAP - the SVT Focus pump out-flows the Cobra pumps by 20% per KB - I think it'd be a similar mod to the Cobra pumps but I probably wouldn't be able to run it lower than 1/4 tank (not that I do normally).

The BAP seems to put some good numbers up for a Walbro pump, which is why I thought it might be promising.

The problem with the Walbro's is not that they won't work on a returnless system (they will) they just burn out much faster than they should because they can't handle the constant voltage fluctuation. I don't reccomend the BAP anymore after mine burnt out under WOT. Luckily, it blew both the BAP fuse and the fuel pump fuse, so it quickly went to a "no fuel" situation instead of a lean situation. There are some guys who've had the same problem and have resolved it by wiring it up with heavier guage wires, but for the price I'd just go with SVT focus pump, aviator, or GT pump.

Is there any way I can get either of those 3 pumps w/o modifying the fuel tank? If the SVT Focus pump only flows 146lph how is that any better than a Walbro that flows 255lph, because of the voltage? Any prices on any of those 3 pumps? Thanks everyone :)

Don't read too much into flow number. That is at 80psi.

Pumps:----(13V)40psi--60psi--80psi-(BAP 17V)40psi--60psi-80psi
5.0 & SN95------98----73----46--------------137----100--63
4.6 2V ('99+)----158---115---65--------------264----201--152
4.6 4V ('99-'02)--154---131--100-------------211----189---162
'03/'04 Cobra(x2)-167---145--119-------------236----215--189
Lightning---------149---127--95--------------204----181--158
SVT Focus-------217---185---143-------------302----278--244

I don't have the numbers for the other two but they do flow more. I did the focus pump and it is a direct swap.
