I've had some limited experience with BAP's, and we've used them on a few cars. We never had an issue with reliability. I don't see why it would be a problem for ya. I would be concerned that the Walbro might crap out on you though.

We mostly used them on GM cars, but the one car than may be comparable to yours is a S/C'd Marauder. Anybody know what kind of pump they run? It was giving the car more than enough fuel after we added it. The car wasn't making the power you were, but I believe they were #42 injectors. It was pushing 8 psi of manifold pressure, and we didn't have a fuel supply issue after we added the BAP. I believe the Marauder has a returnless system, but not 100%.

It may be comparing apples to oranges, so I apologize for my ignorance on the subject matter. I know they are a cheaper fix for fuel problems, especially if the car seems to run out of fuel on the top end. With a weaker pump, you may have plenty of flow in lower rpm's, but once that beast hits boost and gets up in the rpm range it leans out. The BAP seemed to correct this issue almost everytime. I can't remember a time that it didn't. Hope this helps. Good luck with your car man.

Thanks everyone for the input - I'm gonna look to see what I can get more readily available. I know the place I am bringing my car to sells KB kits so getting a BAP shouldn't be an issue, but I also don't want the pump taking a deuce on me while I'm at the track and killing my car. So perhaps a BAP AND a GT/Aviator/SVT Focus pump?

If you do go with the BAP, don't wire it the way they say in the instructions. Read this first.

Thank you everyone for your responses. My friends dad is a manager at a Ford dealership so he is gonna look into a GT pump and an Aviator pump for me, plus I will be in contact with the owner of the dyno I'm going to, to see if he has a BAP he can sell me. I'll know probably by Saturday if I'll have enough fuel, and I'll have some new dyno #'s with the new setup...wish me luck!

I'm sure someone will chime in...
But, not to be a smartass, you might call your local Ford dealer and get some idea on the prices.

They told me the Ford GT pump is made by Roush and that because they don't sell Roush vehicles they have no idea how much it would cost..it's the id10t dealership around the corner from me.

Heh, therein lies the problem.
Just thought I'd throw that out there. I sometimes forget the obvious when I'm excited about a project.

Thanks Tim

I'm just anxious to get this thing going, and it doesn't help when the "parts" dept has no idea whats going on - they had one in their showroom, but I guess if one ever came in for service they'd be out of luck huh?

After going back and forth a little, I'm going with Cobra tank/pumps. First, I really wanted the Ford GT pump, but dealerships only had listed the bottom of the pump for $110. I then decided that maybe an Aviator pump would work - found out that the bucket the pump sits in would run dry faster than it could be replenished using the Aviator pump w/ GT bucket. Aviator pump was (I believe) $289 regular price @ a dealership. Plus it would only support max 540-550 RWHP so I would be close to pegging that out, plus I want to do a D-1SC over the winter which would definitely surpass that mark.
