when I got my boost gauge I went with the Autometer Carbon Fiber Mechanical 30 in hg. / 20 psi. gauge. Everything worked fine for almost a year then it started reading wrong. When the car was off it would read 2 pounds of boost, which meant when the car was on it was reading 2 pounds too high. Today I went to take it off to see if there was an adjustment on the back of it to try to re-zero it. When I got it off the boost needle just fell completly off. I cant seem to find a way to open it to fix it.
So my question is, is there a way to fix it or do I just have to get a new guage. If I have to get a new gauge should I go with an electrical gauge as opposed to a mechanical gauge. Has anyone else had this problem and what kind of gauges do you have? should i just go with a cheap gauge?
