I am wanting to install a boost gauge inside my car using the autometer center gauge pod. My question is with the mechanical boost gauge I heard you have to drill a hole in the dash. However, with the electrical you do not have to drill any holes. Is it true that I would have to drill a hole to make the hose fit into a mechanical gauge??

How did you run the vacuum/boost line into the car?

there is a gromet on the drivers side firewall, it leads to the engine bay. .its big enough that if your careful you wont kink it at all

How did you run it through the dash and up to the center console??

If you are determined you can run the wires and/or vacuum line through the firewall and under the dash. Then you can force fully squeeze them through the seam of the defrost vent/dash pad and out throuigh the defrost vent. No holes drilled. I have three gauges wired this way in my dash pod.
