Is it posible to run boost with a normal carb, if you put it in a box, and pressurize the box? Or do you still have to have a special blow though carb?
The box is bulky and expensive coming in at $600 new. I"m not sure if you can use a Vacuum secondary carb in a box. If you go blowthrough with a carb hat which is much easier and cheaper then you'll need a mechanical secondary carb with solid floats and no choke. Thats really all you need to get started with blowthrough. Let me know if you want the specifics since I've done it before and can tell you what needs to be done.
I saw you sold your setup, is that because it didn't work out well? I see your point about the vacuum secodaries. If you can, I'll take any info you have on it, thanks.
It worked fine as you can see by my numbers, but I am currently building a 460/TKO600 combo and so I need to sell my old stuff to pay for the new. I was pushing 14 lbs through the carb with a carb hat, and the 516 at the wheels was only at 4900 before I ran into fuel cut due to a mechanical pump. If I had an electric setup I would have the fuel needed to make 600 at the wheels. Let me know exactly what you want to know.
