I will soon be selling my '07 GT and want to start a new project this year. I'm looking at purchasing a New Edge GT and dropping a 4V 5.4 in it. Then i want sling on the Kenne Bell 2.8L blower and unleash hell. I basically want to build a stock appearing GT that is a total Cobra killer. Would I be able to get this combo to fit under the hood? I know I'll need some different motor mounts and I'm also thinking of swapping in a T-56. Would these two mate up correctly? I could deal with getting an after-market hood if that was necessary, but I don't want to cut the stock one and let the intake stick through because I want it to be a sleeper. Any input you guys have would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

5.4 4v + 2.8 KB = one bitch of a hood clearance problem.

Even a stock 5.4 can give you clearance problems without the blower on top.

I don't think you'll have much of a sleeper with a 5.4 and a KB under the hood, if you can even find a hood tall enough to fit... If the hood doesn't give it away, the blower whine will.

Personally, I don't see the point in going with a 5.4. The 5.4 just makes your life a LOT more difficult, in terms of hood fitment and intake options, without really giving you more than a tiny increase in power. In terms of making top end power, the 5.4 has a much worse rod ratio and bore to stroke ratio which won't help you.

why not tear the whole 4.6 down and build an awesome 4.6 with a charger.. 500hp -600hp shouldnt be too hard

oh and it will probably cost less

there are roush kits for 5.4 3v that should fit. but it will be very close.

i say 3v because mildly ported 3v will flow with stock 4v. and full ported 3v only flow 30-40 short of ported 03-04 c heads and 10 short of ported 99-01 c heads. much smaller package, lighter weight and 95 percent of 4v power.

whipple also sells kits. but look. the turbo option really is king.

look into how much power a twin 62 will make with a modded 5.4 3v and a roush lower intake manifold with throttle body adapter.

if gas mileage was not an issue i would have gone that direction with the one in my car now.

forgings, ported heads, roush intake and twins = faster than any 4.6. and it WILL FIT UNDER STOCK HOOD.

I MEAN JUST DO THE MATH. 305CFM /204CFM HEADS, BIG CAMS, BIGGER TURBOS. AT 25 lbs of boost.

it would have nearly identical power to Ford GT/ gt500 with unmoded heads with the same boost. maybe a bit more.
