Yes and no. The T45 bell housing can be removed but only once the transmission itself is off of the car. The bolts are accessible only from the inside of the bell housing.

Regarding the transmission swap question. Several recent post regarding this swap and other transmission swaps. Note the 98 and older transmissions uses an VSS sensor. The 99 and newer use an OSS sensor. The two sensors are NOT compatible with each other.

An extended range Speedcal may work, BUT.. several ppl have reported it has been discontinued. Further, it will not work for all applications (automatic). Suggest doing your research throughly as the avilable tech suppoprt for the extended range Speedcal is dicey at best.
