Anyone running a Borla Cat-back system? I just won a 50% off gift certificate, (not 50$), at a local Mustang club meeting. I know Borla is supposed to be good, but almost everyone I talk to, even most threads I have read, talk about Flowmasters, MAC's, and Magnaflows. I actually was planning a on a MAC system, but now this has come along.
Does anyone have a Borla system on their 5.0? Are you pleased with it? How does it sound? I have a '93 GT convert. Is it VERY loud? Was it easy to install? Also will it fit a different brand 'H" pipe if I ever purchase one?
Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Bob

Anyone interested in a possible trade for it?

The catback sounds very good. It's poppy, though. I like poppiness, but some don't. That's personal preference. It's loud with an off road H. On a stock 5.0, it makes more power than any other exhaust system.

Problem, it's a 2 1/4 inch system. Which means anything more than bolt ons and it's holding you back. If it were me, I'd buy it half off, sell it for as much as you can, buy another system, and have some cash left, unless you want to go Bassani.

If the mods in your sig are all you have, then I'd use this exhaust until you do heads, cam, or intake or make above 250-260 crank horsepower.

I runs Borla for my cat back and love it. The quality it top notch, it has the million mile warrently, and the sound is unique and not at all like a Flowmaster which is nice (dont' get me wrong I like flows). Don't believe that being a 2 1\4 inch system that it'll hold you back. Borla puts a lot of R&D into their product in order to get you the most horsepower. Remeber just like with cylinder heads, TBs, headers etc bigger is not better, it's about balance and combination.

I highly doubt theres only a 2 1/4 system. Get yourself the xr1's as they're are the race mufflers and sound good as hell.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will most likely stick with simple bolt ons for now. There's something about pulling a low mileage car completely apart that I just can't do. I would like a little better rumble though!
Thanks Again,
Bob

Most of the borla cat backs..especially the stingers I have heard sound like a nascar ...many people love it but I personally am not a fan, I like the deeper throatier sound...but everyone is different

Gotta chime in, I have 2.5" Borla ProXS mufflers welded to the rest of the exhaust in the sig. Sounds like this . Also gave me more low-end torque than Flowmaster, with about the same top-end horsepower, but with nicer quality sound. Plus I think that they are quieter at cruise than stockers!
