My dad and I have decided to pick this up for my 15 yr old son. Its an 86 4 cyl with a bad engine. Hes excited about it. The cars straight, and solid should be a nice car when done. Hes been told Im not spending a dime on it. He has to pay for it, and Ill turn the wrenches with him. I think this will make for a good father/son project. Lord knows we need it. Plans are Explorer 5.0 swap, reapint, a decent restoration. And yes it stays 4 eye.

Yeah I got no idea about that. An older couple owned the car since new. So who knows what they were pulling.

I love 4 eye cars. In 85 when the new GT came out I was 14. right at driving age. It was the first Mustang I ever really liked. I wont convert one. That SS 454 is pretty much stock. It wont be for long. Jamie is putting together a stroker 490 something for it now with a Vortech. Once done it should be a pretty nasty ride. He was showing me the heads, and stuff for that build today. Its nice owning your own shop and having all of the resources at your finger tips that he has. Hes doing a 89 coupe at the same. Hes got a stack of parts for it too.

Yeah I actually know Jamie the owner. I watched him try and sell for a few days before I called him about it. He made me a good deal on it. For its age its extremely solid. Doors shut nice, underneath is good, and even the engine compartment is much cleaner than Id expect from a 22 yr old car. Seems an older couple owned since new until recently.

I sure will. We have about 18 months to get the car ready. Once he gets his permit he can drive the family beater (02 Focus Zx3) until this is ready. Hes going to have to do this on the cheap though as Im not paying for any of it. I have my hands full with my 95, and the wifes 03.

Ill be sure to post up as the car comes along, but it will be a slow process. The car wont be needed for atleast 14 months. My 15 yr old hasnt even finished drivers ed for his permit. We have graduated licenses in NC, and Im noticing a lot of kids just saying screw it, and waiting till theyre 18 around here. Some are getting their permit and just keeping that until theyre 18. I remember not being able to wait to drive. These kids seem to not care so much since the state has made is hard on them. Let them have a bad semester in high school and bam they suspend the license.
