=========================================================

do yall think this car is pretty well built? I got it for $2500 seems like a good deal, he was my cousins friend and he works at a car shop so I think he knows what hes doing, but want to ask yalls opinion about the parts, how much HP do you think, he didnt know and never had it dynoed, so Im really in the dark, if yall think its a good built car, I guess i'll have 2 5.0, one notch and one hatch...the car has about 9,000 miles on the top part of the engine and 120K on the bottom? sounds pretty good to me but hey I can always sell it down the road and maybe double my money, so Its kind of a investment and hey I know its faster than my stock engine notch!!!

anyway let me hear yalls opinions!!!

thanks everyone, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I'm gonna assume the car has gears, eventhough its not listed. Sounds like a good find. Heads might be a little big, especially with a stock cam, but i'll let someone with more knowledge tackle that one. But i would deffinetly go custom with a cam, it'll be the best for your combo or any combo for that matter.

i probably missed it, but i would figure out what stall you have to help with determining what cam you might want (those two go hand in hand more than some folks give them credit for).

congrats - im jealous!

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas .... good find so far huh ...

Knowing which gears and if it has a stall converter helps us help you decide ... hard for me to believe he would have a stock spec cam in it with the other mods listed?

Well, you can't really go wrong with something under .500 lift and <220* duration .... don't know what valve spring lift figure capabilities ya get with WWJr heads

With the mild build you have now, I would say try a Ford 'E' cam or Trick stage 1 ... with an automatic you don't want to go with too big of a cam that will create a lot of overlap ... I would guess your rear wheel hp with a stock cam to be about 220-240.

I say pull the goodies out of the Hatch and put 'em in the notch (of course I have a bias )

Does the engine lug when you accelerate from a dead stop? If not then you don't need a stall. If it does a little then gears may be all you need.

Is the car in good shape? If so you got a pretty good deal. What are you going to do, combine mods to one car and then sell the other? Or just have two mustangs.

i had those heads on one of my old cars, with gt40 intake and a comp cam with .530 lift and crane gold roller rockers 1.7....car screamed and ran 12.4 at 117mph with cornering suspension. Good luck with your car, sounds like a STEAL in my opinion. dump the AOD in my opinion

A lot of people here dont like the windsor Jr's. They are a little rough as cast. If you just clean them up, they really come alive. They make as much peak hp as the AFR's (box stock), but AFR's have a better power curve.

I'm not dogging AFR's at all, just saying that IMO it is a good head for the price. Since you already have them, add an appropriate cam, gears and stall adn your smoking.

Hey everyone thanks for the info...yeah I'll probably just keep both cars for now, maybe down the road combine the parts to one car...

I'll probably go w/ a frpp E cam just because its a ford product and I dont know about a trickflow cam and how itll do, now with that said I dont know squat about AOD or stall kits, will a 3000 stall be to much for a daily driver once I put a cam and some 4:10 gears in!???

i really dont like aod I love sticks, does anyone know of a good place that sells a aod to 5 speed conversion kit w/ all the parts and how much, I wouldnt mind looking into that and say the hell w/ the aod and stall kit : ) !!!

anyway if yall can help me w/ the stall kit Id appreciate it!!

Did the guy actually say it was still a stock cam? I find it hard to believe he had the top end off to replace heads and lifters etc... but didn't add a cam. Did he just forget to mention it?
