Congrats! Between those two I would pick the Edelbrock AVS

The Demon is a Holley with all the bugs worked out and it is prettier! I was a Holley man for years, the speed shop I work at had the Edelbrocks on sale, so I thought I would try one. I won't go back! I bolted the carb on and did a two minute adustment on the idle speed and the idle mixture screws and it was perfect. The Edelbrock keeps it's tune also. After winter hibernation the II would not even run without tunning the Holley. I won't miss the puddle of gas on my driveway either!!(the Edelbrocks only gasket is above the fuel level). Performance wise the Holley is more responsive, but in a Drag race type situation They would be equal. I got a cailbration kit for the Edelbrock, I am going to play with it, and see if I can tune it so it responds better to lighter throttle imputs.

Holley carbs are for performance and edelbrock carbs are for driveability. Brian, if your combo does not make enough HP. I can sell you the stroker out of the cobra clone for a fair price. If I had it to do over I would go with the demon.

i bought the demon 5-6 yrs ago and will never go back.. i owned 2 edels and a carter (same thing)..before the demon purchase, and i swear to you the h.p.
was\is a big difference.. its crispy and i mean crispy! no hesitation, and i can set everything inc; floats in seconds compared to the edelbrock which you had to rebuild to get any performance out of it..or rebuild to be able to tune it correctly..
i have not made any adjustment to it for atleast 3 years, and it sits on the car in the garage for winters.. theres nothing wrong with carter or edelbrock carbs.
let me just clear that up now...as said these carbs are known for their reliability..
