Anybody ever installed a BOV on SC motor?
Could it be installed in place of the bypass on an AFM pp?

Have you tried it yet or thought of the type of set-up you will try and use?

You will need a blow through MAF (maf after the sc, before the tbody), then the bov somewhere in there as well. Not enough room on our cars to do it with a vortech.

yes. if you run a bov, it will just run rich for a split second because it has already metered the air

So what about the bung on the pp, do I just plug it?
Can I install the BOV on the discharge tube nipple that goes to the pp?

Won't work with the draw thru meter. I had a mondo bypass valve on my T-trim, I unplugged it to see what would happen and just at idle it went rich and died.

a BOV is very possible on most sc setups. i love BOVs. when i was sc hunting, i was going to do that. pull a trick on a couple people. i think the coolness factor is way worth it. never say never guys.

just use a blow-thru maf like said. But you will need to do the fox tbody conversion to be able to fit the MAF between the tbody and blower..

The P600b kit for my 94 Cobra comes stock with a blow off valve. The MAF is after the blower in a blow-thru configuration. The blow-off valve is located a few inches from the inlet of the intercooler, on the blower side. It's very audible, & can be heard over the loud exhaust, inbetween shifts.

i dont see why it wont work, i jsut got home from checking out my freinds turbo setup hes putting together and it seems easy.a vac line hooks up to it just like the bypass valve. if it vents out the discharge tube on the BOV i dont see why if you hook that to the PP it would make a difference. both vent back into the power pipe.

the reason why is it needs a blow through maf and a fox TB setup so you have room for one.

the maf is reading that 1000 cubic feet of air is traveling into the engine and then you bypass this air with the BOV and only 300 goes in then you have a major rich condition and black smoke and back firing

not enough room witha vortech and stock setup to run this.

i still dont get it, the discharge tube vents before the supercharger but after the MAF and so would the BOv, no?

is the BOV before the maf?

it needs to be

power adder > BOV> MAF > TB > motor

alot of imports have mafless setups... like a haltech system or many stand alones.

does your friend have a stand alone?

Need? Nah.... it can be anywhere between the compressor and the throttle body. After the MAF, at worst the engine runs rich for a second or two. That's not going to hurt anything.
