braided fuel lines to stock tank insert?

So I needed to get new lines for my 91 gt. I don't have 1200 to buy the kit. So I'm woundering does anyone know of any way to attach braided lines to the stock tank insert? Has anyone every tried a crimp fitting or something? I know I could do it if I were going to a out of tank pump but my pump in tank is only a year old so I wanna keep it if I can. Thanks

You can braze or weld fittings on it, then convert to braided hose. They do sell a insert for it as well....
