I put Explorer discs on the rear of my 72 and have stock discs on the front. I would probably prefer using Dot 4 fluid (doesn't take off paint). The system is dry and clean now and I need to decide. Anyone know what I should use? THANKS.

Use DOT4. DOT3 and DOT4 are both glycol-based fluids. DOT4 is compatible with DOT3 systems. The difference between DOT3 & DOT4 are the dry and wet boiling points, with DOT4 being better. Do not use DOT5 as that is silcone based and does not play well with other DOTs, water, or your rubber lines.

I am partial to the Valvoline syns in DOT 3 or 4. RB has given good advice.
