Brake issues (Hawk pads)

BadMoFo- Is this after I told you what Brake quiet does in that other thread and you told them to put it on?

Like I have said I have seen People complain about Hawk pads, autozone pads, Napa pads, and oem pads. Maybe I got lucky. You can buy me a set and I will install another set to see if they squeal??
However the thread is about a noise he is getting when he turns the wheel.

yes I took the car back AGAIN, the 1st time I took it back they said it would go away after some miles, so I put miles on it, around 4k. then I took it back and they put on the brake quiet. and it still squeeked, took it back and they adjusted and greased calipers and anything else we could think of, still squeek. like I said I am going to use stock pads probably next time because I never had problems with them and they produce way less dust. that and i dont notice any difference in the stopping distance with them compared to the stock ones. But I had heard good things about them until after I got them and then I started hearing alot of people complaining about noise and dust, wish I had seen that info before.

I don't see much difference in stopping distance either. I know in my 99 Merc Cougar when I put new, cheaper pads on it I could notice a big difference in stopping power and brake fade.

These Hawk pads are about the same as stock with brake fade as well.

MY Hawk HPS pads never squeal, maybe once or twice. You realize HPS are th only street pad they make, and ALL others will squeal because they are street/race or race pads. This thread is very misleading, I hate it when people make blanket statements about a company because they had one bad experience.

P.S> EBC green stuff bite worse then the HPS and dust more, misleading....
Given I only have Hawk HPS in the rear, but they haven't made much noise. I'm putting them in front after the OEM pads on the Cobra front brake kit wear out.

I race in SCCA time trial events and at Maple Grove Raceway and I run Hawk HPS pads in the rear and Hawk Race pads up front............yes the dust and yes they squeal, but they stop like nobody's business. By the way, they say that on the boxes and on all of their advertising........because they are High performance/race pads.
As for the noises you're hearing from your front end......I'd pull the wheels off, disassemble the calipers and inspect my rotors, then if they are ok and don't need turning down, I'd carefully reassemble the calipers, making sure everything is going back the way it is supposed to. Brakes are a very important item on a car...not to be taken lightly, or you might end up on an off-road excursion sooner than you think.
