I'm having a problem with the brake lights on my 65. We just had everything disassembled to install an adjustable master cylinder pushrod. Well now that we have everything back together the brake lights don't work. I bypassed the switch and they work. The switch was replaced several years ago, but has had minimal use because the car has been sitting in the garage for a number of years. I can't believe it is now all of a sudden gone bad. They were working before.

Does anyone know how this switch works? If I knew how it worked, maybe I could figure out why its not getting switched on.

If you changed the pushrod then the angle of the "head" on that rod is different.
The brake light switch is adjustable. The center bar must be bent at the correct angle to the angle of the rod end and your brake lights will work.
