On the front brake pads, which is the inner pad, and which is the outer? One has 2 little posts on the back, and the other doesn't.

as I recall, the pins go on the outside (away from the piston) otherwise the piston won't contact the pads correctly...

My mechanic put new rear raybestos brake pads in my car and i notice that he did not put the grease on it. Is there anything that can go wrong from this?

The only thing you may notice is some squeeking at most. I have never used grease on my rear pads and have never had a problem. The fronts on the other hand are a different story.

I believe the pads with the post go on the inner side of the brake caliper.

Obviously, not contacting the rotor, but on the "passenger side" of the caliper, for reference.

The easiest thing to do is when you pull off the old pads... look at them. Greasing the slider pins is always a good idea.
