Brake pad recommendations

I was just getting ready to ask why nobody has mention Carbon metallic? I was told that ceramic will actually may increase your stopping distance on the street because they are never reach the temperatures that are needed for them to be better than a regular OEM style pad. I did put the carbon metallic on my mid 90's Caprice-sled (Lt-1) and it was night and day. Before I had bad brake fade, etc. After it stopped like a much smaller car and got rid of the brake fade.

Do you like your Carbon Metallics a lot? Did you have to go through a brake "break-in" period? I heard from the brake shop that I'll have more braking power after the new brakes "break-in" for the first 1 or 2 days.

ceramic pads are cleaner running but they are NOT better for stopping.
HPS are good. If you want to stop sooner you need a brake upgrade.
cobra front 13" setup and a good set of rear pads with surfaced or new rotors
would be a big improvement. this setup is still well balanced without upgrading to 12" on the rear disc.

I just got Carbon Metallics from Performance Friction http://www.performancefriction.com/pages/about_pfc.htm

what do you guys think? They said it lasts longer than any other pad with great stopping power. I just put them on and waiting for them to "break-in" as the brake place said to me.
you will have black rims every day from the dust those create they do stop on a dime though but i have had alot BETTER braking from my hawks with no dust almost
