can someone recommend the best pads to get at a local parts store? i thought i got the "good" autozone ceramic pads but they chatter like crazy. its really annoying when i drive with the windows down, and im sure that it sounds like s**t when you hear my car driving by. i need them to be able to be picked up locally because i leave to drive to denver on saturday.

I went with Raybestos ceramic pads for my '03 vert. They are exceptional. Nice stops and my rims stay clean since the dust is minimal and and not dark like standard pads. Another neat thing is they don't make any noise. Their frequency is above what the human ear can detect, although you may disturb the neighborhood dogs. They run about $100 for the fronts and about $50 for the rears. I don't think that you can go wrong with these pads.

I have used Raybestos aka "squealbestos" often and they were one of the noisiest pads ever. I refused to sell them to customers and use them.

I don't know about standard Raybestos pads. Their ceramic pads are excellent and the fact is, unless you are a dog, you can't hear them as ceramic pads make sound that is above what the human ear can detect.

Either way, I doubt that I will ever use anything but ceramic from now on.

I have used their ceramics on my Camaro and that thing was noisy and squealed. So I put factory ones back on. Also have had a few customer complain about how noisy they were.
