Im fixing to put new brakes on my car, I want to eventually get sloted rotors and some high performance pads, but for now just want to get a set of pads with equal or slightly better stopping than stock. what is the best pad for the price?
stock works good, but if you must upgrade, i've had good results with the ebc greenstuff brake pads...minimal break dust with improved braking....they do wear faster and cost more so i'd stay with a stock replacement if your worried about price.
Perhaps it has been due to differences in driving style but I have been completely disappointed in my EBC Greenstuff pads. I bought them last summer thinking they would improve braking, reduce dust, and last longer. What I ended up getting was far from what was claimed. They dusted like nothing else, they didn't last, the breaking was only slightly improved, and sometimes they would squeak and squeal.
The dust buildup I get from these things is like nothing else. My rims turn solid black in just 2 weeks. It looks as if I haven't cleaned my rims in 3 or 4 months.
To top it off they already need to be replaced after just 13,000 miles.
I admit I am very hard on my breaks. But I was able to get 20,000 miles out of the stock brakes and they never squeaked and had minimal dust.
I totally recommend either going with the stock OEM parts or a Cobra kit with OEM pads.

yeah, have full liberty, have school till about 3pm. always up for a cruise so pm me and we will get togeather sometime. havent been in a few weeks to qualcom. have been to a few of the autocross events they have there about every sunday that are pretty fun to watch.
the OEM rotors are more than you would need. they are great for track days. the 03/04 cobra OEM pads should fit on your ride, they are an execellent pad. another option if you are into open track would be HAWK pads. they tend to be a little noisy, but they are execellent pads. you are already on the right track by not having drilled rotors. you shouldnt need slotted rotors. the slots were put in to vent gasses made by the pad contacting the rotor under high temp. however newer brake pad technology makes the slots unnecessary.
