i recently installled a new set of front brakes and drilled and slotted rotors. now the car pretty much will stop on it own from about 5mph down. just wondering is something messed up with my calipers or are the rotors to wide?

Did you lube the caliper slide pins? It cannot be driven in the current condition...

Take it back apart, lube slide pins, make sure caliper pistons are well compressed. Clean up everything and put it back together. Worst case you can get new powder coated calipers at AutoZone for cheap if you have to.
