I have a 97 cobra, with 107000 miles on it. I believe that the rotors atleast are factory original. I have some S.S. brake lines already, just not installed. and I am thinking of getting some plain brembo rotors, and hawk pads. I just can't figure out which pads to get. I dont auto cross or anything, just sick of not feeling the brakes over 90 mph, if I have to get on them. I am leaning towards hawk HPS pads, the only other choice for now is hawk ceramic pads. Anybody have any suggestions?? Thanks chris

Yep, the Brembo replacement rotors and Hawk HPS pads with the SS lines would be a good upgrade and you'll definately notice the increased braking ablility...

Looks like Tirerack has really good prices on both...

Don't get the hawk race pads unless you plan on heating them up. I got these.
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=4497&prmenbr=361

And they don't start to brake good until you've layed into the brake pedal more the once and heated them up not what you want for the street. (don't order them from jegs btw just a example (long story))

I got that with stock rotors, ss lines. My next move is to get a brake bias controller to tweak the front to rear power of the system to hopefully help the rears bite harder and reduce some nose dive.

Well I ordered the stuff from tire rack yesterday. I got the oem brembo rotors, hawk hps pads, and will be putting on steeda ss brakelines, as well as steeda spring isolators, a front sway bar for a 97 version of the s351, a used rear sway bar(atleast this one isn't hollow) the factory one lasted a week after getting my tires put on, and probably a tri-ax. I couldn't decide between ceramic or not, and the tech at tire rack, had no complaints with the hps. I told him I wanted to feel the brakes working if you got on them going 90+ mph, and that is what he suggested. I think everything is still stock(brake related) hopefully I should have all of this stuff on next week, my mechanic is going to baltimore wed to pick up a boosted 03 cobra(lucky dog) all he said was that it already has CRAZY torque numbers. Maybe he'll let me take it for a spin.

yeah the $3300 big brake upgrade would be nice, but how pratical is that. Would it throw you through the windshield or something, there has to be something better to spend that kind of money on. maybe I need to plant a money tree.
