Curious if anyone has upgraded to a larger discs and brake pads or even calipers while running either the American Racing Torq Thrust M's or the equivalent American Muscle 18" Bullitts.

I have the following rim size:

Rear: 105MS8166B 18x10 45 7 1/4 5x4 1/2
Front: 105MS8966B 18x9 34 6 1/3 5x4 1/2

Looking at my current calipers, there might be 1 Centimeter clearance between the spoke and stock calipers.

Let me know.
Thanks,
Apex

Larger rotors and especially larger calipers pretty much wipe out any and all wheels with any kind of lip on them. I love the deep dish look but if you want bigger brakes you are S.O.L. Sorry.

What about keeping the stock caliper and just upgrading 1" on the discs? If not, has anyone purchased this package from Brenspeed?

Looks like it is a stock size but improved discs, pads and brake lines.

"Improved discs" don't offer anything other than improved looks. A pad change, brake bleed and lines would be more cost effective and work the same or better. Cross drilled and/or slotted rotors are not needed.

Larger discs with stock calipers will actually help with at least brake fade since the discs have more material and surface area from which to release heat. Slotted or drilled rotors will also provide a difference, but again, only on brake fade if you are racing. There is a reason why all exotics use them. Granted, with both, you'd probably have to be a pretty skilled/season racer to notice much of a difference.

If you are going for straight up stopping power though, I'd follow sonnier's suggestions and see if you are happy with the results. If you want more, then invest the money on a big brake kit if you can find one.

NOT true you can run 14" rotors with a 6 piston setup with deep dish 18", I had the brembos on my 04' workd great ! None the less BREMBO if you have the money APEX, THEY will fit, call the HQ its on the website and explain your tire wheel combo they will hook you up with everything from price to color !

And as sonnier said ... Slotted and crossdrilled ARE FOR SHOW (if your not a track racer).. and they eat pads VERY VERY quickly, i went through pads ALOT with the brembos ! His advice is very sound and true as well !

The wheels for the s197's are different than the 04's. jlisle01 isn't the only one that has said this. Head on over to modularfords...or any other site and ask this question. It just isn't possible from what I've been hearing.
