Brake Warning Light Came on.

Here is the deal

Just swapped my 4 drums to a 4-disc setup.
I used the original distribution block to feed the front brakes and capped off the rear of the block.
I ran the MC to an adjustable prop valve for the rear discs.

The brakes work fine.

I was driving around the other night and my Brake warning light came on.
Brakes worked with no problems.
I bled the brakes and there was no air in the lines.
The next day the light came on and off every now and then.

My guess is that the distribution block is getting fooled because there is no pressure going to the rear of it since I bypassed it strait to an adjustable prop valve.

Is there another problem that I am not seeing?

Are my brakes fine?

Should I just disconnect the warning light?

Thanks,

From what I've read on braking systems, drums require 10lb residual pressure to stop the shoes from retracting all the way and the driver needing to pump the pedal to get them back to the drum, whereas disks only need 2lb, so maybe it's the lack of constant 10lb system pressure that has alerted the warning light?

I thought with a 4 wheel disc setup you would take out the stock distribution block and just install an adjustable proporioning valve for the rear? Either way you will probably just have to diconnect the wire for the brakes.

All the light does is detect a pressure difference between front and rear...it uses a little sliding valve to trip the light. If you aren't using the rear part of the distribution block I guess that slider is moving around a little and setting off your light. You can probably just disconnect it since it's not giving you a true warning anyway.
