I did a search and found alot of info on axel swaps but they were all swaps based on other ford vehicles. I am interrested in doing a swap with an aftermarket axel like moser or strange so I can get a 31 spline for racing. Well I'm not to sure what the hell to ask if I call up a company. O yea if I do a swap for both the front and the back I want to get rotors and calipers. What's a good company that sells calipers that will fit under 15" welds? Brembo? Thanks for any help. Jay

Any of those companies have the exact swap kits that you need. One stop shop for axle, LS, C-Clip elims and even high performance brakes.

Just call them. Tell them what you have and what you want to do. Have your credit card ready. Strange 31 spline, with a full spool and C-Clip elims will run about $600. Little more for LS. That does not include gears. Call strange direct or wild ride race cars. Wild ride is an authorized dealer for strange.

I'm pretty sure I saw a 31 spline and detroit locker for 700 and change. Which doesnt sound like to bad of a deal. This car will be a daily driver so I wasnt lookin forward to running a full spool. Think a detroit will hold up to 600RWHP?? Thanks for the help. Jay

I feel that it would. That sounds about right. I assume that it includes C-clip elims too? What about brakes, what is your brake budget/plans?

I just got back from Mass. on saturday. Was in wakefield for 1 week for some comverse training. Comverse is located off of I-95 either exit 39 or 42, cant remember. Too cold for me. This white stuff fell out of the sky on occasion, got all over everything.

if you want axels and brakes. call up baer brakes. you can buy the whole brake kit and they'll come with axels. just tell them you want 31 spline. you also need a 31 spline differential that you can get from moser. that's where i got mine from. your going to pay a lot by using baer but their brakes are the 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me'. also while your in their getting the rearend redone mite as well upgrade your ring and pinion to 3.73's or 4.10's depending on what you want to do.

www.northracecars.com has a complete rear kit with hardened axles. Thats what I used so that I could keep the stock rear track. When you are shopping around, be careful that they dont sell you sn95 length axles, unless your OK with the rear track being 3/4" wider on each side - that could be what makes it or breaks it with large wheel/tire combos.
