Cut the drums...new shoes
new calipers, rotors, bearings, pads and master cylinder.
Hawk pads, on stock rotors up front
while driving and braking at slow speeds no problem, but heat up the brakes a little and brake on the highway and Ii get a vibration like the rotors were warped.
I took the rotors off and brought them back to the store for a refund and bought another couple of rotors at a different store and installed them with the same Hawk "street compound" pads... same exact vibration.
The seconfd store is willing to cut or take back the rotors and also they have new Raybestos pads for $50.
should I try changing the pads before I do the entire front brake job a third time! Do you think the Hawk pads could be doing it? I never felt it before and I never used these pads before...Should I try the raybestos pads on my rotos and see how it goes before taking off the rotors to bring them in...
I don't think the rotors are warped because I would feel it all speeds, I only feel pulsing at higher speeds when braking moderately hard. Not even really too hard. It won't let me come close to locking 'em up!
This would waste a $100.- set of pads but I'll do it!
