can anyone tell me their experience on converting from a jam jar to a dual master cyl. brake system(power brakes,disc/drum)? A guy with a 66 t-bird wants do one,and I'm sure a mustang is similar if not the same. Is there a kit? What needs changing? Do you add in a proportioning valve? Any help would be great.

No, a Mustang booster would be very different from a Thunderbird. If the car already has disc brakes, it already has a proportioning valve. There are kits, but some things you have to do yourself, like the lines connecting the master cylinder. No problem if you have a double-flaring tool. There should be plenty of room on a Thunderbird to switch to a 67 Thunderbird master cylinder. Not so with a Mustang, a 67 Mustang cylinder won't fit on an OE style booster, and the aftermarket inline conversion style boosters are crap.

the swap is an easy one. with the Tbird use a master cylinder from a 67 tbird. as for the plumbing, that is also easy. you can get short lengths of line with the double flares and fittings already installed. you will need to bend them yourself though. you will need a few inline couplers, and a plug for the rear line depending on the distribution block. i havent examined a tbird system as yet so i cant tell you exactly what you need for sure, so take your time and follow the lines from the master cylinder to the distribution block, and it should be obvious what you need to do.
