How can you tell when the power brake booster is bad? When I tap my brake pedal, it depresses by itself and holds the brakes. If I try to go I can feel it dragging but then it releases as I speed up, I'm assuming because of the increase in vaccuum? Any suggestions?

Aren't brake peadls supposed to have a spring on them to bring them back to there upmost postion? Or atleast maybe the spring is on the plunger itself in the master cylinder? I maybe wrong. If a power brake booster is going bad you would find it harder to push the brakes on. Kinda like manual brakes but worse.
