I ordered a new rear main seal from Rockauto, along with several other maintenance items I needed. I took the seal out of the box and the inner ring of the seal was bent up looking. I was able to easily straighten most of it, but you can still see some of it nine the pic.

Is this seal good to use, or should I return it?

Joe

I'd send it back. Did you also order the SS sleeve that goes over the crank? I use them whenever I do the rear main seal. Haven't had a leak yet.

I'd return it also. It would probably work but I wouldn't risk it. Changing the seal once is a pita not alone twice.

SS sleeve? Are you referring to a repair sleeve? Don't believe I would need one. Crank was brand new about 11k ago. I may not know what you are referring to though.

Thanks for the replies, I believe I will return it.

Correct. A repair sleeve. If your crank is new you don't need it.

I'd return it. I'm pretty confident it would work but why chance it. Rockauto has been pretty good for me on exchanges even paying shipping back
