That's funny and so true. I broke the puny 10 bolt in my 1997 T/A WS6 with an automatic and only 300 or so RWHP.

Yea the nitto Drag Radials suck! go with another brand!

I use BFG drag radial II's on the street. They hold over 550RWTQ on a nasty launch. Very streetable tire. Nitto's are crappy, I spun them like mad.

As for breaking stuff, I have a stock rear and have launched with slicks a 4.5K several times with no problem. Don't "dump" the clutch, "slip" it very quickly. Makes a world of differance.

stick w/ the 3.73's if you plan on making 350rwhp or up.... Traction is a bioch after that.

I have 3.73's now, planning on going down to 3.55's soon.

you should be fine with the nittos but as everyone else has said, i would recommend you upgrading to the BFG tires. they are a lot better street tires

I doubt you'll break anything, of course there are freak occurances. Our 8.8's are pretty damn beefy.

I'll be running a set of BFG DR's on mine this summer and slipping the clutch from high RPM's shooting for 1.7 60's . I keep hearing the Nittos suck and are about as good as some street tires, but for only $125 for some 315's, i'd be all over it.

Define "stree tire." As in, better for the random red light encounter? Or better for cruising on the street, getting caught in the rain, or lasting for more miles.

If we're talking in terms of the latter, then I gotta say all the reviews I've read for both tires say the exact opposite. Always heard the Nitto's were the most daily driver friendly, which is why I've kept my eyes on em since I was looking for tires for my new wheels over a year ago.

I've also always heard the Nitto's are trash if you don't heat them up well, but with a big smokey burnout, they come alive. Are you guys who are knocking the Nitto's running em after doing a big burnout? Or just rating them by how they perform on the street?
