breakout box?

im doing circuit checks on air management... whats the ECU breakout box?

There is no breakout box permanently installed in our cars. The closest thing to it would be EEC connector itself. A breakout box is a connectors that would install between the harness and the EEC that effectively "taps" all the connections going to the EEC. Those "taps" run out to a box that is designed to allow you to take either milti-meter readings or logic probe readings from. The picture below will give you an idea of what a breakout box might look like for our EEC. I have not seen one that was specifically designed for our computers but I also have never looked for one either.

LOL... probably why I don't have one. With a little ingenuity, I bet that you could make one for about $40.
