alright, i smacked my passenger side cat on a speed bump pretty good and i think i broke it. ( when i get on it at about 3500 in 2nd and 3rd i hear a rattling sound coming from under the car near where the cat is). my local muffler shop said if i buy the cat he will charge me $100 to weld it in. so i was thinking about just getting one of the catco cats for like $50 out of summit. if i do this will it screw up the flow of the cats if i have one of the old ones and one new one?

100 Dollars??????

I'd weld his rear end shut for $100... try $30-$40! Yeeeesh

I'd suggest getting both if at all possible. By cheap beer and smoke Basics this week. Stock up on peanutbutter.

i think it might of been $100 for both. atleast i hope it was. but having one new cat and one older one isnt gonna screw up exhaust flow is it?

Theoretically flow would be the same unless the old cat fell aprt inside the housing. The catalystic properties would obviously be more efficient on the new cat and Im not sure if that would trigger any types of codes. I know newer cars have catalyst efficiency monitors but chances are ours dont.

do you need to run cats? why not just get a O/R H-pipe or X-pipe?
