Ok long story short, broke the bolt off in the thermo housing on my GT 40 lower. I couldnt get it out so i drilled it out and tried to retap it. Well the aluminum didnt take the tap. So now i want to know what my options are. The only thing I can think of is to heli-coil it. Any other suggestions? I am trying to fix this without tearing apart the top half of the engine lol. If I pull it off there I will just buy a different intake lol.

You just gotta hate it when that happens
and
You can be sure ... that has happened to all of us

Yes ... a helicoil might do the trick

In the future ............

Things like this don't need to be super tight

I mean ... your objective is to just crush the gasket

Relax a bit
and
Don't be so ........ up-tight

Also ... you got a Steel bolt going into Aluminum threads
so
A little dab of anti-seize will keep the corrosion down

Good Luck with the fix
