HELP.
I was under my 66fastback for an oil change and notice a broken spring like part under my tranny. It has a hook on one side, spring in the middle, and im guessing a hook on the other, but im not sure since its broken off after the spring. Somebody should know what it is and where it goes. If possible, post pic(s) of piece installed.

Spring for the parking brake. It goes from the parking brake bracket to a hole at the end of the passenger's side subframe.

Here is how mine is mounted on my 65 (with a 66 parking brake cable):

I have subframe connectors, but your's should mount similarly. I install my spring on the underside of the parking brake bracket and the cable assembly bracket is on top. It gives me more clearance away from the driveshaft. Not sure which way is factory, but I think that either way works good if there is adequate clearance with the exhaust. Swapping them around like mine "might" give you more room with that T5 tranny conversion.
