Broken axle studs!!

I have a friend with a 2000 GT who had a flat tire. I dont know how but in the process of replacing the tire broke two of the axle studs clean off! How do I go about fixing this? Do I have to replace the whole axle shaft or just the studs? And if it's just the studs where do I get them? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Wheel studs...available at any auto parts store, rather cheaply. You only need to replace as many as you have broken, so 2 in your case, and they typically just hammer out and in to replace them, but I haven't had to do it in my mustang yet. I've done it in quite a few GM's at the shop though

I'd personally replace them all, on the affected axle. If they were stressed enough to break some, the strength of the others may be compromised, too. Studs are cheap, cars are not.

Prior to having lost a wheel at highway speed in my IROC I would have disagreed with you, but... well... I now belive that this is a good idea to replace them all if you replace one. :p
