Some D&*head decided to whack off my driver side mirror, busted the heck out of it. Found this replacement on ebay and am wondering how easy or difficult it is going to be to replace this? Any directions, photos, or links to existing posts most appreciated.

Need to get this done soon.

Thanks

Easy to remove and replace. This is the agent 47 mirror install, but basically the same thing.

THANKS BCB00GT. That's exactly what I was looking for. Doesn't look too bad at all if you can turn a wrench. As soon as I get the mirror, I'm on it.

Easy !! Do not over tighten the bolts because it will distort the mirror and you'll be able to see it from the outside !!

Nice link
A straight up OEM swap won't be too difficult at all. Gently pull the mirror remote button off. If yours is an '07 on, there is a small tab that might break upon removal. No big deal as it will slide back on and stay fine.

Why not just take the opportunity to do the Agent47 swap?

Actually, I love the stock mirrors because they are the only side view mirrors I've ever had that actually function as side view mirrors safely. The large size makes them work very well.

The past few weeks, I've driven an '84 and '89 Fox with tiny mirrors compared to the OEM S197 and even smaller than the A 47s. Also been in an '08 F 150... Can't wait to get back behind the wheel of my '06 and look into those A 47s

mustangdave: the A47 mirrors use the "glass" from the stock mirrors so the mirror part is the same size. The mirror housing is different - much more retro and looks like it belongs on the car - in my opinion anyway

The A47 mirrors do NOT use the same glass as the stock mirrors, they only reuse the servos and wiring harness. The A47 glass is smaller but still very easy to see with.

The glass is completely different, just like everyone else just said.

Go the dealership's collision department, for about $135 they will replace it. I had both of mine replaced after a whacko bird decided it didn't like my mirrors and scratched the heck out of them. Dealer wouldn't replace just the mirror...so for close to $300 he replaced both with brand new OEM mirrors in about 20 minutes.

Anyone seen where you can find the stock looking mirror housing with the built in turn signal? I'm not talking about the glass with the built in LEDs, but the actual housing that has the turn signal lighting built into it.
