I have a 2000 mustang convertable. I was cleaning it and somehow broke the plastic cover that moves with the gearshift and also moves the red indicator that shows what gear it's in. Has anyone else had to fix one of these? If so, could you let me know how to go about fixing / replacing mine... Thanks in advance guys.

Junkyard.

The only other option is the dealer, and they'll probably only sell you a whole assembly of some kind with a lot of parts you don't need. The only way to get small obscure parts like that is to find them at a junkyard.

Thanks Skymarshal, ended up getting the part at the dealer for $35. Not too bad I guess but I'm sure a junkyard would have been cheaper. Installation wasn't too hard. Didn't really know what I was doing so I took it slow but got er done eventually.
