Broken Lifter Retainer

any one see one of these break before pulled my intake the keeper and the peace that broke was just laying there

Yup. I've seen what happens when the dog bone falls off the lifter and they rotate. Ruins the cam pretty quick

Mine dog did fall off but the lifters was still sitting like they should hope they didn't spin was causes that to break just old and weak

Heat, fatigue, stress cracks, repeated cycles, last person who was in there bent it and then bent it back and thought it was ok. Who knows.

Well since the only way to tell is by pulling the intake, half of us could have a broken tab on the retainer and not know about it. Someone messed with it as mentioned above, or worst case you've got something funky going on with one of those lifters (or the valve / pushrod / rocker / spring) that put some vibration into the keeper and made it self-destruct. Just a wild guess.
